SEMO Fair Parade / Fair Night

This week is the annual SEMO District Fair, and it's always so much fun to go walk around.  I love eating a little fair food and getting to let Brynn see the animals and ride a few rides.  Even though the fair is always filled with some crazy people, I seriously SO look forward to it every year!

Monday was such a fun day because we watched the fair parade that afternoon and then headed to the fair right afterward.  We wanted to go early in the week because we don't know when we are going to be in the hospital, and we didn't want to miss a chance to take Brynn.  She really liked the parade...she really understood the concept of a "parade" and how they throw candy, and how you watch the people go by, how you wave at the people, etc.  I think her favorite part was probably all the bands...she would dance and shake every time they walked by.  And she loved seeing the baton and flag girls.  She also got lots of suckers and candy!

We watched the parade with my parents.  My mom works at a doctor's office right in front of the parade route, and that's where we watched it last year too.  Ryan even got off work a little early and was able to meet us for the second half!

She LOVED putting all the candy in Grandpa's hat!

Every two seconds she would grab a new piece of candy...she would lick it a few times, and say "that's for you
mommy" or "that's for grandpa" and then she'd try a different piece.  HA!
We left the parade and drove over to the fair.  We let Brynn ride a few rides, we ate a corn dog, walked around a little, and then headed home.  It was a little HOT but just such a fun time together!

FAMILY PIC...guess we were all wearing the free stuff we got?
(Necklaces and that super cute plastic hard hat?)
The crazy thing about the rides was that Brynn was SO TIMID.  At Silver Dollar City we had to tell her she COULDN'T ride things because they were too fast or for big kids, but at first she barely wanted to ride the carousel!  I'm sure part of it was because Ansley or any of her other little friends weren't there to ride with her, but it was so weird to see her act so different about the rides!  KIDS!  The lady at the carousel wouldn't even let ME RIDE because I was pregnant!  WHAT?  I was like "lady, there are six month old's on this ride and I can't ride?"  HA!

Thankfully the guy at the train ride let me go with her.  She really liked it and I liked getting to ride with her! (Although as you can see from the picture below, I barely fit in that little thing...getting in and out was quite interesting!)

See that weird creature on our train car?  Brynn specifically wanted to ride in that one and pointed to that
thing.  WHAT IS THAT?

At one point on the ride you'd go by this really loud truck.
She is DEFINITELY in a phase where she doesn't like loud noises.

HAHAHA!  Ryan's face cracks me up!
She rode the carousel again, and wanted Grandpa to ride with her.

Guess Grandpa thought the carousel was pretty fast!

HAPPY FAIR WEEK!
