Sunday, Sunday

This Sunday was just a fun low-key day spent with family and friends!

Playing with Daddy after her afternoon nap

That night we went by my parents house.  It was the annual fall neighborhood bonfire.  We still get to go!  HA! The neighbors love to see Brynn!

Hanging out with Grandpa

Then things got a little silly...haha!

Lindsey and Curt were in town (my sister and her fiance).  It was fun hanging out at the bonfire with them!

It was SO BEAUTIFUL behind their house!

We grilled hot dogs and had lots of yummy food!  But I guess we never took a picture with me or Ryan...oh well!

Tidbits

Just a few tidbits that I want to remember/didn't put in Brynn's 7 month post.
  • We weighed her right after her 7 month post and she weighed about 18 1/2 pounds...wow!  She is starting to feel much heavier to me!
  • I am still nursing...yay!  I feel like my "supply" is going down a little though, so right at 7 months I started taking this herbal supplement that my nursing consultant friend recommended.  It is called "fenugreek" and also has something called "blessed thistle" with it.  Interesting I know!  HA!  I'm also trying to eat a lot of "real" oatmeal because that is supposed to boost your supply.  We also had a container of formula so we are going to use formula in her cereal instead of breastmilk...instead of dipping into my "frozen supply."  =)  I know that's probably more than most of you wanted to know.
  • This child is moving ALL OVER the place...she can get anywhere she wants to go now.  She can go from sitting up to leaning over and getting on her tummy and then pulls herself ALL OVER the place!  We have to start "baby proofing" IMMEDIATELY!

Hannah Montana at Church??

Brynn decided to celebrate Halloween a week early and dressed up as Hannah Montana for church this past Sunday...HAHA!

She can be a HAM in front of the camera!

As Grandma would say "Get your sparkle on!"

All ready to go!

7 months!

Saturday was Brynn's 7 month birthday!

Happy 7 months big girl!

This month has been so fun!
  • Brynn weighs about 17 or 18 pounds.
  • She is wearing size 2 and size 3 diapers (we have both kinds so we usually put her in the 3's at night).
  • She is wearing 6-9 month clothes.
  • New this month...she is really reaching for people!  She is also starting to "eat" puffs and we tried a very simple Sippy Cup the day she turned 7 months, although she thinks it is a teething toy right now!  HA!
  • She loves to pull on hair and grab people's faces.  Sometimes she sucks on our cheeks...it is so funny!
  • Some toys she loves are the caterpillar that hangs from her carseat, her soft "baby", and her stacking cups and fabric blocks.  She likes to hold the little stacking cup and put it in her fingers and do this funny little move with her fingers.  She LOVES peekaboo and most of the times it makes her cackle!
  • Her naps are really good, but her night sleep hasn't been the greatest.  Within the last two weeks  she has woken up in the middle of the night or early in the morning several times.  I don't know if it is teething or if she is just in a quirky phase, but we haven't gotten up this much since she was 7 weeks old! AHHH!
  • She is army crawling and can pretty much get all over the place by scooting herself around.
  • Her typical day goes something like...wake up a few minutes before 7, get ready for Nonna's, at Nonna's she takes a 5 oz. bottle and then has cereal and fruit.  She takes a morning nap for about an hour or an hour and a half, usually starting at 9.  She eats "lunch" (4 or 5 oz. bottle and veggies) around 11:30.  She takes her afternoon nap from about 1-3ish.  I pick her up a little before 4 and we come home, unload, change into comfy clothes, and then she nurses around 4:15.  Then she has veggies and fruit.  Early in the month she was taking a catnap from about 5:30-6:15, but lately we have started waking her up after about 20-30 minutes because she is probably going to get rid of that nap soon.  Then she has cereal around 6:30, and I nurse at 8:15 or 8:30 and put her down for the night.
  • She is just such a happy and content baby!  She is so smiley and pleasant and people comment all the time on how happy she seems and what a good baby she is!  YAY!  And they are right...she is such a happy little thing!  We are so in love with her little personality!

She is just getting to be such a BIG girl!  We love you SO MUCH Brynn!

SEMO Homecoming Parade = GREAT DAY!

Saturday morning was the SEMO Homecoming Parade!  We put Brynn down for her morning nap and then just got her up early so that we wouldn't miss too much of the parade.  She LOVED looking at the floats and bands and people!

Family Pic

Here are Brynn and Frankie...Frankie's mom, my friend Erin, was in the parade for her work, so Frankie was there with Mrs. Susie, his grandma.  They are some of our closest family friends.

Brynn LOVES to feel faces (and pull hair).  She had lots of fun giving Frankie some lovin'.  He was definitely playing hard to get.

Some of our family friends at the parade.

Mommy and Brynn

Hi guys!

The funniest thing was that people in the parade would walk by and look at Brynn and say "oh, she's so cute" and then give her candy!  She got suckers, milk duds, etc.  I was cracking up...I'm like "people...she's SEVEN MONTHS...she drinks milk!"

I just LOVE this picture!  Brynn LOVED looking at everything coming by...bands with the loud drums, floats with music, the people passing things out, etc.

You all know my husband and his love for food...somehow he ended up being thrown a Jimmy Johns sandwich from their float...seriously??

As I always say, I know I'm biased but I just think she is ADORABLE!  And those Ugg Boots!  We have Uncle Kyle to thank for those.  It helps having a very stylish guy in the family...thank you Uncle Kyle!

"Everyone stop...the parade is coming!"

We had SUCH a good time at the parade!  Then Saturday afternoon after her nap, Brynn and I went to a baby shower for a friend.  It was the first baby shower I've taken her to.  She did so good and I was definitely a proud mama!  Then that night we went over to a friend's house and watched the Cardinals game.  Since we both have young babies I should say we "started" the Cardinals game because I don't know that we made it through three full innings before they put their little girl to bed and we had to leave to get Brynn in bed.  =)  It was definitely one of the best days!

Catching up with the iPhone

I had several pictures on my iPhone that I hadn't posted yet...here they are!

Brynn with my dad...doesn't she look so big?

Here are a few pictures left from our Mizzou Homecoming weekend...here we are at Addison's!  Favorite appetizers EVER...so good that I had to take pictures of them!

And more pictures of them...seriously if you are in Columbia you need to go there and get the sweet potato chips and the nachos bianco!

Me, Jaclyn, Jerry, Lauren, and Alicia in front of the BSU (Baptist Student Union).  This was our home away from home while at Mizzou.

At the game

My husband has been known to eat some strange things when he is hungry...example - if we are out eating pizza he will put parmesean cheese on a plate before the pizza comes.  I turned around at the game and saw him eating a packet of barbeque sauce...yes, just a packet of barbeque sauce...I have no words!

We are getting some pictures of Brynn made soon and were trying on a few outfits...somebody sure knows how to ham it up for the camera!
It's so nice having a phone to catch those little moments!

Christmas Songs and a Tushy

Last night we were in the car on the way home and it was chilly outside so we had Brynn's sock-cap on and a big blanket over her.  It just felt "holiday-ish".  Ryan and I were singing Christmas songs and talking about how different Christmas songs make us picture different holiday images.  I was cracking up when Ryan said that one song made him picture our family snuggled up in front of a fire and eating a Christmas dinner, but that he also sees himself looking in the window seeing his family doing that...does that make sense?  It was just so funny what different songs made us think.  HA!  Anyway - when we got inside I thought Brynn looked TOO CUTE not to take a picture of.

I could seriously kiss and squeeze those little cheeks forever!

Then it was bath time...I know I'm biased but is that not the cutest little butt you've ever seen?

100th Mizzou Homecoming!

Right after school on Friday...Ryan, Lauren, and Parker picked me up and we drove to Columbia to celebrate the 100th anniversary of Mizzou's Homecoming!  (We are the University that started Homecoming after all!)  As much as we wanted to take Brynn and show her off, we knew she would do bettter at home with the grandparents.  We had a GREAT weekend visiting with so many of our friends!

Friday night we met up with friends at the BSU and walked to see the House Decs (skits put on by the frats and sororities).  It is one of my favorite Homecoming traditions.  Here are Lauren, me, Alicia (my random freshman year roommate at school who turned out to be one of my BEST friends!), and then Lindsey's best friend's from school...Lily, (the sister), and then Kelsie.

Brewer Fieldhouse all lit up at night...it was BEAUTIFUL!

Welcome to HOMECOMING!

Seriously within 5 minutes of walking around the house decs (amidst thousands of people) we ran into some of our friends from the good old days!  It was so fun to see everyone...some have babies, some are pregnant, etc.

Love you girls!

Watching a House Dec skit

We had the best time walking around campus (in the dark) and visiting some of our favorite and most memorable places.  Here we are in front of "Stankowski Field" where Alicia and I tore it up during flag football season! HA!

Lauren and her hubby Parker...Lauren had a lot of fun showing Parker around campus.
Later that night we went to eat at one of our favorite restaurants in Columbia...Addison's.  I took pictures with my phone but haven't loaded those pictures yet.

Saturday morning we got up and headed to campus for the big parade and the traditional pancake breakfast at the rec center!  It was just so fun doing all the things we used to do when we were in school!

The parade was so crowded and big that I seriously felt like we were at the Macy's parade! HAHA!

The best sister in the world!

After the parade we headed to a tailgate party with more friends!  Jaclyn, me, and Linz enjoying some delicious burgers and hot dogs!

There's just something about tailgating...the smell of the food grilling, the excitement in the air for the football game, and I can't forget all the annoying drunk people...that might be my least favorite part! HA!

Ryan takes a lot of pictures...and he decided he needed to get in one so he took this of himself...haha!  The sad thing is...this is one of the last pictures we took.  We didn't take the camera to the game, but I did take some pictures on my phone.

The game was AWESOME!  We played great and WON big time!  GO TIGERS!  Later that night we went to eat at Shakesphere's Pizza (another college staple) and had such a great time hanging out at Lindsey's apartment and visiting with friends!  We LOVED our years at Mizzou SO MUCH and were so blessed to spend such a great weekend with wonderful friends!
