Chickens and Pioneer Orchard

The weather here has been gorgeous!  It definitely feels like fall.  So...to take advantage of the beautiful fall morning we met Uncle Jason, Aunt Sarah, and Ansley for a couple of "outdoorsy" activities.  First, we went to Jones Heritage Farms to look at the chickens and turkeys.  We buy our milk and eggs there, and Sarah had mentioned that she had never been there.  We had fun looking at all the fresh milk and butter (someday I'm going to buy that huge roll of real butter!) and then went outside to see the chickens.  Ansley loved seeing them run all around, even by the cars.

Ansley and Brynn were checking out the turkeys.

The sign said that the turkey was mean and would bite...so we stayed far away!  HA!

Ryan is always joking that he wants to get into the hobby of "wildlife photography."  What a nerd, right?  Well, maybe he has some real skills.  I think this picture looks pretty magazine worthy.

Getting both girls to look at the camera and smile was hilarious...Ansley would look and say cheese but Brynn just wanted to look all around.  I think we caught her mid-sneeze in this picture (she's a sun-sneezer like me!)  Oh well...this is real life, huh?

Playing with Uncle Jason

Ansley loved calling "hi chicken!"

After we left Jones Farm we drove to Pioneer Orchard.  They were having their "fall festival/pioneer market day" celebration.  There were wagon rides, people buying apples and pumpkins, homemade kettle corn, apple butter, etc.  It was so fun!  They also have goats and a hay maze.

They had this cute picture area all set up...and this is what we got of Ansley and Brynn!  Brynn kept trying to eat the straw.  It was EVERYWHERE...when we got home I even found 2 little pieces of straw in her diaper!

Brynn wasn't very photogenic today...but I think she had a great time seeing everything.  =)  We ran into a lot of friends there...several girls I teach with and lots of kids from our school were there.

Going through the hay maze.

This was hilarious!  Ansley was eating an apple and was trying to eat the whole thing...literally.  She started eating the core and then even tried to eat the top with the stem!  Jason was trying to get her to spit those parts out.

Notice Brynn's bare foot...her new "thing" is pulling her socks off.
After our fall morning we came home, put Brynn down for her afternoon nap, had a big bowl of soup, and turned on college football...what could be more "fall" than that!  I love days like this!
