Valentine's Day SICKNESS!

Charli, Hollyn, and Emory all playing at Chick Fil A!

The morning we missed church because of snow Brynn was ready to go out in about two seconds...

Ryan had taken one of the leaders home because the roads were bad, so they had fun cleaning off her car...which got covered in ice about an hour later...but oh well!  HA!

Valentine's night Ryan, Brynn, and I ALL ENDED UP IN THE BATHROOM THROWING UP!  AHHHHHH!  Over the next day or two we did a lot of sitting on the couch and watching the tv and the ipad!

Can you tell things weren't going so hot??

Emory was fine while we were all sick (thanks for passing your germs Em!) so she spent a lot of time running around the house making mischief while we were all passed out on the couch.  HA!

Thankfully we were all feeling MUCH better by Tuesday morning so it didn't last too long but WHEW!

Disciple Now Weekend 2016

An awesome event our youth group at church puts on is called "Disciple Now Weekend".  The youth from our church (and several other area churches) have a weekend of intense discipleship and lots of fun.  The kids are divided up in age groups and each age group stays in a different host home with a couple of college kids as leaders.  This year we hosted the freshman girls and we had a blast!

The girls were helping me get the leaders "beds" all set up on Friday morning.  They were SO EXCITED about the girls coming!

They just KNEW Miss Avery would want their stuffed animals on her bed...HA!

We ran to Walmart to get some last minute grocery stuff for the weekend...

and while we were there we HAD to pick out cards for Valentine's Day for Daddy!  That took FOREVER...she's about as indecisive as Ryan!

Friday night we headed to the church to meet our group...the girls were all decked out in their new Valentine shirts from Aunt Sarah!

Brynn gets to be one of the flower girls in Miss Alaina's wedding in May!  YAY!

After we got the girls settled in at our house, we headed out to get them some bandanas...we had lots of fun playing around in Walmart...=)

Later that night we took the girls back to the church for the opening kick-off and rap concert!

When "Thisl" (the rap guy) would yell "throw your hands up!"  Emory was ALL ABOUT IT!

Our sleeping arrangements were interesting...the girls took over the upstairs so Brynn slept with us and Emory slept in the pack n play in our bathroom.  =)

Brynn had lots of fun surprising and playing with the big girls during meals...

and got very very spoiled.  The big girls even did her hair!

When they all left for the afternoon stuff at church, it was just Emory and I at the house.  I looked down and there she was on the floor...

She was worn. out.  And she had gotten sick the night before...we thought it was just something she ate.  She would throw up in the bowl and then be totally fine...but we tried to keep her away from the girls.

Not cool when you have a house full of girls at your house...

Sunday morning the Disciple Now kids were all supposed to head to church for the big concert during morning worship but the weather took a crazy turn and starting snowing like crazy around 7 am.  Church got cancelled and all the parents had to come pick up their kids from all the host homes...the roads were getting so bad!

Of course Brynn had a BLAST visiting with all the girls while they were all being picked up.

The girls were AWESOME and we had such a fun weekend getting to know them, getting to participate in some of the fun Disciple Now activities, and just watching our girls interact with them.  We pray they learned so much and live out their faith to their friends!

School Valentine Party Fun

Emory's little class had their Valentine Party on the Wednesday before Valentine's Day...she woke up looking like this. HA!  "What day is it?   My Valentine's Party???"

Her little Valentine's said "Orange you glad we are friends?"  My girls love to eat those little "cuties" (oranges) so we thought this was the perfect little Valentine!)

Her teacher text me these...

After school the girls had so much fun looking through Emory's bag of Valentines...and then we started working on Brynn's Valentine Box.  She had sports themed Valentines and she wanted to make her box look like a soccer field...

It was even her idea to put this picture on the top...which turned out SO CUTE!

And her little Valentines...SO CUTE!

Valentine's Day COOKIE ORDER - The Motherload!

This year for Valentine's Day I decided to just GO BIG OR GO HOME and did the most cookies I've ever done in my life...WOW!  I stopped my pre-order at 50 dozen, and with the extras I inevitably have to bake, I did about 55 dozen Valentine cookies.  YIKES...my hands are hurting just typing that!

My mom made half my dough and I made the other 16 batches.  Then I spent two days baking on and off in shifts.  On the Monday before Valentine's Day I got up at 6 am and starting mixing my icing colors.  By about 7:15 I was ready to start icing.  HOLY MOLY.

I had tables set up all over my house and it was like Willy Wonka's cookie factory...

I spent about five hours outlining and basing.  My dad picked the girls up about 9:30 and took them for a little play-date and he brought them back about 11:30.  By then I was almost done with the first part and we took a break, ate lunch, played, etc.

After Emory went down for her afternoon nap around 2, I started up again.  I was able to get a lot done while the girls napped, and only had a couple more hours to finish later on.  I was SO GLAD TO FINALLY FINISH!

The cookies sat and dried overnight on Monday night and then Tuesday after school my mom came over and she helped me package them all up.

WHEW!  It took a small village of helpers, and I couldn't have done it without them...but so thankful to have had another successful round of holiday cookies!

Super Bowl Fun

Some of our best friends came over for Super Bowl (kids free!) and we had a blast catching up, eating, watching the game, eating, visiting, eating...HA!  You get the picture!

Jason was doing an impersonation of his dad, who had evidently fallen asleep during the game at their party!  HA!

Guess we never took a picture of the boys?

Who knew that Fruit Roll-ups can leave a tattoo on your tongue?  HA!

GO BRONCOS!
