Run for Christ 5K

Saturday morning we went down to the River Campus for the Run for Christ 5K.  A really neat family from our church started this race last year to benefit "Heartland Sole Providers."  (A lot of the money goes to buying shoes for needy kids in our area.)  Ryan ran the race and my mom and I walked with Brynn.  It was such a beautiful morning and lots of people from our church and Life Group class ran the race!

Since Ryan is training for the New York City marathon he and Jason had to run 22 miles on Saturday.  The race started at 8 am, so the boys got up and ran from 6-8, then ran the race, and then ran some more after the race!  We saw him at the starting line.

Can you tell the race shirts were blue?  HA!  This is a picture at the starting line.

The race was kind of "down and back" style, so as we were walking we got to see Ryan!

Here we are during the race!  We actually even jogged a little bit!  For some reason the tires and wheels on our jogging stroller are shaky and wobbly...I asked my wonderful husband to FIX IT before the race, but he said (in typical guy fashion) "Oh Whitney, it will be FINE", so I was stuck walking with this wobbly thing the whole time.  EVERY person that we passed or that passed us asked me if our stroller was okay!  HAHA!  You better believe Ryan heard about that when we were done!  =)
Yea!  Brynn came in 91st place on her first 5K!  HAHA!

  2. I love reading your posts, Whitney! :)

Ugh, beware of those wobbly strollers. Jake ran with the two kids in our wobbly one awhile back and the front wheel popped off! the kids landed face first in the road and got bloody noses and road rash on their face. It was so horrible. We ended up fixing ours by tightening some stuff in the front wheel.

You guys seem to be so much fun as parents- love it!
