Messy Morning

Saturday morning we headed to the Show-Me Center for an event called "Messy Morning."  I think it coincides with the national "week of the young child"...we had never been before and our Parents as Teachers lady (who we go to church with) encouraged us to try it out.  There are booths by everyone from the Public Library to the local gyms, to day-care centers, Parents as Teachers, restaurants, and the conservation department.  They all have fun and crazy activities for the kids to enjoy.  We ran in to lots of people we knew, and we had a REALLY fun time, even though it was a little chaotic!  HA!

The library booth had a "sticky wall"...we ran in to the lady who teaches Brynn's storytime.

She liked the sandbox...

She thought cutting and scraping bars of soap was really fun...

and she LOVED pouring the rice (although I think she poured more on the floor than anywhere else!)

but her FAVORITE by FAR were these liquid ball things...she called them bubbles and they look
like marbles, but they are slimy and squishy!

Probably the funniest part of the morning was when she saw all these kids throwing confetti in the air..she jumped right in and started throwing it all over herself...I thought she might be a little timid, but NO...

She would throw it up and watch it fall down on herself...

She started smashing it on her hair...
I guess she noticed that everyone was covered in it and she wanted to be covered too?

Then she got in the TUB with it!  HAHA!

For the rest of the morning, she had confetti all over her (and of course so did most of the people there!)  It was in her jacket, down her pants, etc.  =)

She really liked this colored spaghetti...and of course she still has tons of confetti in her hair!
When we got there it was really crowded and I was thinking "I don't know about this.." but it turned out to be GREAT!  I think we will definitely hit it up again next year.  =)

  1. The balls are called "jelly balls" and they are used for keeping flowers and plants hydrated. You could probably find some at Hobby Lobby, if you trust her to play in them and not eat them.

I actually saw a 'spa' set at Target yesterday where you soak your feet in them for relaxation. HA
