Cruise Thursday - Princess Tea/Day at Sea

Thursday was a day at sea, so we enjoyed spending the morning at the pools/splash areas.  I played with the littles at this Donald Duck area, and also got to enjoy the waterslide (The Aqua Duck) with Ansley (Brynn wasn't tall enough).

We got some yummy snacky food for lunch, including pretzels shaped like Mickey!

A couple of months before we went on the cruise, we had booked Brynn and I a spot in the Princess Royal Tea, so she had that at 3:00 in the afternoon.  We stayed up and did this awesome ship Mystery Scavenger Hunt thing before she went, and then Ryan and Emory went back to the room to take naps, while Brynn and I went to the tea.

The mystery thing was so cool...you would scan this card and there were three different mystery adventures to choose from...Brynn wanted to solve the case of the missing Dalmatian puppies.  You would go all around the ship and they would have these picture frames that looked like real pictures, but if you held up your scanner card the pictures would come to life and it would show you clues and you would use your card to do something, like pop balloons or unscrew bolts to get your next clue.  We had to rule out different villains as suspects until we figured out who did it!

We SOLVED THE CRIME!  It was such a fun activity and really helped you learn where different things were on the boat.  I wish we could have done all the mysteries!  Brynn LOVED it!  (And so did we!)

Next off was the Princess Tea!  It was so fun!  They limited it to not very many people so it was really small and intimate, and we could see everything right up close.  There were maybe 12 tables around this circular area in one of the fancy dining rooms and the princesses would come in and sing, and greet the girls and give them little gifts.  It was pretty pricey, but it was part of her birthday present, and she got tons of cool gifts during the tea!  They got a princess doll, jewelry box, necklaces, jewels and charms for the bracelet, a picture album, pen, etc.  It was such a fun thing to do together!  (Side note - we worked really hard on her make-up to try to cover up the black eye for the princess tea...I figured it was "cool" for pirate night, but maybe not so much for the fancy princess tea!"  HA!)

Chef Brulee' was our "host" for the tea...they all sang and danced right by us...it was really cute!

That night we had a grown-up dinner and the kids all went to their areas...the littles to the nursery (see pic below) and Brynn and Ansley to the Kids Club.  The big girls got to take their PJ's because they were having a Pluto Pajama Party (they even made pillowcases!) and a princess came by the Kids Club to read stories...so cool!

One of the desserts was chocolate lava cake with ice cream, and we all GOT TWO EACH!

Pam got the little girls these cruise ship mickey figures (which Emory is obsessed with) and she wanted some too!  Ryan surprised her with them, and we were all laughing about how excited she was!  HA!
