A Memphis Wedding Reception and Race

Ryan and Jason had a triathlon in Memphis a couple of weekends ago, and his cousin happened to be getting married and the reception was about 40 minutes away from Memphis, so we loaded up and made a special weekend trip to celebrate and watch the race!

After driving to Memphis, shopping, and eating on Saturday morning/afternoon, we headed to the reception in Byhalia, Mississippi that evening.  The girls loved riding the golf cart to the reception.

The reception was outside of the bride's family home, near a horse farm.  It was GORGEOUS!

Before the bride and groom even got there, my girls were tearing up the dance floor!

The food was AMAZING...lots of southern cooking and tea in mason jars, which was Brynn's fave.  =)

It had rained a lot earlier in the day, and the dance floor was wet and soggy and slippery...the kids were all slipping and sliding around, but that didn't stop them.  =)

Poor Emory was "dancing" so hard she fell face first and got covered in mud...we couldn't resist snapping this pic!  But about two seconds later she was out at it again.

Ryan is so good about being silly with the girls...they were so excited for him to get out there and dance with them.  I think he was in mid-robot for this picture...

Ryan was up super early to leave for his race, and then the girls and I got up later and got ready to go watch him.

Ready to head down the hotel elevator to grab some breakfast on the way to the race...

I had no clue where we were going, and no idea where to park, but thankfully a couple of different police men  helped us find where to go, and we made it in plenty of time.  Thank goodness!  (As we were leaving the hotel I told Brynn, let's pray and ask God to help us find where we are going" and she said "I wish we could ask God to help us find Ebby Lee's house!"  HA!  Guess she's ready to go back for another girls trip, huh Erika?

Watching some of the transition...

The boys finished together, which was so cool!  (Although Ryan had started earlier than Jason in the swim, and then Jason always passes him in the swim, and Ryan had to catch back up on the run, etc.)  So Jason was the victor of the day (you know the boys are always keeping track!  HA!)

Alex, Blake, Jason, and Ryan...the four racing amigos.  =)

We grabbed some lunch after the race, and loaded up from the hotel, and headed home.  Both girls were OUT in the car and we had a nice quiet ride home (other than the fact that I was driving in the pouring rain...YUCK!)
