Brynn's First Day of Footprints - 3's Class

Last Tuesday was the first day of preschool at our church preschool, called "Footprints."  This year Brynn is in the 3's class with Mrs. Kristi and Mrs. Ginger!  Our preschool is three days a week...Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays from 9-2:30.

Here are some pictures from her first day...(we laid out her clothes the night before and then somebody bedazzled her outfit that morning all by herself....HA!)

The girls had gone to Nonna's a couple of times the week before because I had to work at church a couple of weeks before the kids first day, but we will pretend like this was "Emory's first day at Nonna's"...doesn't she look thrilled?? HA!

Normally, Brynn comes with me and we have to be there at 8 to start our morning jobs, but for the first day, Ryan brought her.

Putting her backpack under her name-tag...

She has done SO WELL so far!  Last year the first month was quite an adjustment and I would have to run around the church sneaking around so she wouldn't see me.  This year I can just walk by her classroom and deliver stuff, talk to her teachers, etc. and she will just wave and keep working/playing!  She has already been working on tracing her name, some letters and numbers, and learning new songs.  She has also been playing "school" frequently...here are some of the things she has said to us out of the blue....
  • She walked in while I was changing Emory's diaper one day and says "I'm looking for a star student!"
  • She told me it was time to listen to her story and I needed to sit criss cross.  Then she said "mommy...don't forget to put your spoons in your bowl!" (hands in your lap).  Then she looks around and says "Emory, when I'm reading a story you need to put your toys away!"
  • And when she "plays" school we have to call her "Mrs. Kristi!"  HA!
I am so glad she loves it so much and is doing so well.  A lot of the kids in her class were in her class last year, and it's so fun to see them all growing up!
