Building Progress as of December 31, 2013

We broke ground the day after Thanksgiving, but after they did all the initial digging, we seriously lost like three entire weeks to Mother Nature...BOO!  There was a pretty bad ice/snowstorm and it took forever for the ice to melt.  That was followed by a torrential downpour, leaving our lot a muddy mess.  It's still super wet and muddy, but thankfully they've been able to work the last few days.

Forms are up for them to pour the concrete basement walls in the next day or so.

View from the backyard.
The next day they finished up the forms for the "wing walls".

We all keep a pair of rain boots (or "mud" boots) in the back of our car for when we drive out there.  It is just a mud pit out there!

Standing "inside" the basement looking out...

Yikes...our wing walls look pretty big.  I'm not a huge fan of those, so I'm hoping that's okay.
Some people put brick or stone on their wing walls to "fancy" them up, but ours will just be concrete
for now, so hopefully with some landscaping we can make it look okay.  HA!
Ryan was checking out the forms...it is amazing how much concrete they pour into those walls!

WOOHOO!  Let's get this concrete poured so we can start framing this baby up!
