Gingerbread House

Something I want to do every year with our kids is decorate Gingerbread Houses.  Let me tell you, Aldi's has THE BEST Gingerbread kits.  They are super cheap, and they come with the pre-made parts of the house, the icing, three little bags of candy, and a tray to build it on.  Last week we picked one up and Brynn could not WAIT to make it.  Ryan did a lot of it with her and I took pictures.

Sidenote - notice Brynn's clothing.  Yes, she is wearing her pink princess night gown.  Ever since that princess tea, she wants to wear this pink princess gown CONSTANTLY.  I kid you not, she sleeps it in for every nap and at nighttime.  And she wants to wear it everywhere.  I seriously have to explain every single day that we can't wear it to school or to the store because we have to wear REAL clothes.  But AS SOON AS we get home from school or wherever, she wants to put it back on immediately.  I guess it's just a phase, but if you come to our house on any given day, there is a 95% chance she has the pink princess gown on.  Weird, huh?

Only her daddy....
Because of course he was squirting it in HIS mouth just ten seconds before...

Brynn wanted to squirt some icing and she did such a good job!
It's so fun watching her do stuff like this because she gets so excited!!
After she got done decorating, I moved the house over to the kitchen.  We had already had some problems with the pieces not sticking together (we got a little excited and didn't let the icing dry as long as it was supposed to...whoops!) Well, as I was putting it on a cake plate, the whole thing fell apart!  OH MY!

Luckily, Ryan worked his magic and fixed it when Brynn took a bath.  She didn't have a clue it had ever fallen apart.  He is such a sweet dad!

GINGERBREAD MASTERPIECE!
