Parks and Rec Day

Last Friday morning my friend Jennilee and I took the girls to Parks and Rec Day at the Osage Center.  I worked for the Parks and Rec Department over the summers during high-school and college and remember working at this event.  Lots of local vendors set up booths with information about their business...everything from Discovery Playhouse, the Conservation Center, fitness programs, etc.  We got lots of yummy goodies and had a fun time walking around.

First stop...Dairy Queen was giving out FREE dilly bars!  Couldn't pass that up!

SUPERMOM - I hope when I have two girls I do as much as Jennilee does...
she has no fear taking her girls wherever...just straps little Lyla in and they are good to go!

The Target booth had an Oreo game, and clearly the girl working the booth didn't have
much knowledge of child development.  She asked if the girls wanted to place this cookie game.  She
sat them down and was going to put a cookie on their foreheads and have them try to inch it down
(without using their hands!) until it went in their mouth!  WHAT??
We were like, "umm, can they just sit in the chair and eat it?"  HA!

Sorting colors...

She TOUCHED THE SNAKE at the Conservation Booth

We got popsicles and headed outside, where we saw firetrucks, police cars, and more games.

Sitting in the firetruck!

Obstacle Course!

We had so much fun walking around (and eating lots of yummy sutff!)  Then Brynn and I headed home and when Ryan got home for lunch we headed to Nashville to visit my sister for the weekend!
