Kentucky Lake Day

This past Saturday was such a GREAT day!  Two of my best friends now live in LA and Washington DC, but their families live close and both families have houses at Kentucky Lake.  Since my friends were both visiting their families for the Fourth of July, we were able to all meet up on Saturday and spend the day at the lake.  We relaxed, went out on the boat, and they got to hang out with Brynn!

We got to the lake around 10:30 and went to see Lauren and her husband Parker.  They were at her parents lake house.  We hung out there for awhile, and then all drove over to my friend Meredith's lake house.

Family picture for Lauren's mom's scrapbook.  =)

Then we got to Meredith's parents lake house and it was like a huge reunion!
(Ryan was getting Brynn's swimsuit on when I snapped this pic)
We quickly headed out on the boat...the weather was PERFECT!  Brynn seemed to really like the boat ride...she took a little while to warm up...at first she just kind of sat in my lap, but by the end of the ride she was waving at all the boats that passed and having a big ole' time!

Meredith, Lauren, me, and Brynn!

She took a BIG liking to Meredith and Lauren

She liked looking at all the boats and was waving at all of them!
We came back and ate lunch, and then put Brynn down for a nap downstairs in her pack n' play.  Ryan stayed at the lake house and took a nap too, and us girls headed down to the dock to lay out and visit.  After Brynn woke up, Ryan brought her down to "swim" and ride the "little boat" (aka jet ski).

Obviously they went about two miles an hour, and stayed right by the dock, but Ryan said she liked it!  It is so crazy how she is getting old enough to do stuff like this!

We all came in and all the girls cooked together...Brynn even helped us make the salad while the boys grilled.  We ate out on the sun porch and the weather got CRAZY.  It was the loudest thunderstorm I've heard in awhile.  The weirdest part was that Brynn doesn't really mind thunder...she just says "boom boom mommy" and claps about it, but she hated the fireworks the other night.  Weird!  After we realized there was a tornado warning in the area, we headed inside but the storm passed pretty quickly, and when we came out again there was a BEAUTIFUL rainbow in the sky!

Curt - I took this picture just for you...it's a DOUBLE RAINBOW!

Ryan said that IF he allows Brynn to get married =) he wants this picture in her video montage!  HA!

Oh how I love these girls...and we can just catch up right where we left off even if we haven't seen
each other in a year!

When we came in Brynn went CRAZY...she was showing off so much!  I was seriously borderline embarrassed by how much she was showing off.  I kept looking at Meredith and Lauren's moms and saying "did your kids ever do this?"  HA!  She was singing (although it was so loud and crazy that you couldn't even tell what song it was), dancing, trying to do somersaults, etc.  They were all laughing, and I was like "oh my gosh child please stop!"  HA!

Tickling Lauren's grand-daddy!

SHOW-OFF TIME!!!!!!!!!
We hit the road about 8:30 that night and she was out by 9.  She slept the whole way home and didn't hardly move when we put her in bed...and then we had to wake her up the next morning to get to church on time. Clearly she was WORN OUT from having so much fun!  =)

We had a BLAST and loved getting to catch up with our friends and their families (who are like family!)
