House Update - Week of March 17-21

This past weekend in the midst of all the birthday celebrations, we ran out to our lot to see the progress from the past week.  They got a LOT done on the basement!  They got all the "load-bearing" walls up and got quite a bit framed.  (We didn't realize they would frame so much...when we finish the basement we really won't have a lot to frame up by ourselves.)  All the boards are up so that this week they can lay the "sub-floor" over the basement, and start framing the first floor!  YAHOO!

One of Brynn's little friends got her a kite for her birthday so we took it out there and let her fly it a little bit.

Ryan had to blow up some of it first...

See her "mud boots" (as she calls them).  She has been wearing them every time we go out to the lot because
it's been so muddy out there!

This thing below that looks kind of like a fireplace is not for a fireplace (although that would have been awesome!  HA!)  When we finish the basement (not sure when we will do that...hopefully sooner rather than later) we are going to build in some nice shelving to keep games, toys, etc. in.  Thanks to my friend Erin for the idea...they have it in their basement and it is SO CUTE!

Here are openings for windows and french doors that will look out on the back patio.
Can't wait to see that pond!!

We are SO EXCITED about the progress...bring on the first floor framing!
