Happy Thanksgiving 2012

HAPPY THANKSGIVING!  We had a wonderful day celebrating with our families, and hope you did too!
First up on the agenda?  Making some "monkey bread."

I like to make "chocolate" monkey bread, but Ryan likes it plain.  We make about 1/4 of it with hershey kisses in it.
Brynn unwrapped all 20 hershey kisses and helped put them in the biscuits!

She loved to watch me "roll" the balls.  She would turn her hands over and over and say "roll!" ("row")

Watching the Macy's parade!
Then while the monkey bread was cooking, we worked on a little Thanksgiving appetizer...

Clearly, Ryan likes to do everything without his shirt on...
Daddy and Brynn had to wash a bunch of grapes...

Then we started putting the cheese and grapes on skewers to make "feathers."

VOILA!

We spent most of the day with Ryan's side of the family.  (My mom's side of the family was going to Dyersburg, TN and we opted not to make the drive.  We missed seeing my grandparents and family, but look forward to lots of Christmas festivities with everyone!)  We headed to Aunt Soni's house and Ryan got the BIG JOB of carving the turkey!  His grandpa (who passed away several years ago) always did this, so Ryan had some big shoes to fill.  He also got asked to pray before the meal.  WHAT?  When did we turn into adults?  HA!

Lots of snacking was going on while he was cutting!

Brynn was in some Thanksgiving food heaven...I think her favorites were the crock-pot corn and the green
bean casserole!  =)

Oh and let's not forget, the Thasnkgiving cupcake!

Look at that cute shirt!  (Thanks so some help from a good friend, YOURS TRULY made that
little turkey masterpiece!)
It got VERY messy from the Thanksgiving feast!

About 2:00 we set out Brynn's pack-n-play upstairs in Mollie's bathroom.  HA!  For some reason we always have Brynn take her nap up there...I don't know why.  I guess because it's dark and no one ever goes up there?  Anyway - Brynn took a monster nap upstairs while we watched football and even a Mizzou basketball game, visited with cousins, and just relaxed.  It was a GREAT afternoon!

One of my favorite parts of the day?  When we all sit down and go through the ads!
Here are Ryan's mom and her sisters...Kim, Soni, and of course Pamaw.
Ansley had just gotten there and she and Brynn were having lots of fun!
We left and headed home.  My parents got back in town around supper time, so they invited us over to eat some soup and help them set up their Christmas tree.  If you know my parents Christmas tree...they try to keep the entire thing together in the basement all year.  This means that when they bring it up it is crooked, needs lots of adjusting, and half the lights don't work.  This happens EVERY year.  A few years back my mom paid Ryan and Curt to fix all the lights!  HAHA!  This year was no exception, and Ryan was laughing so hard he could barely hold the tree up!

Then Ryan took Brynn home and mom and I headed out to do some Black Friday shopping!!  Or we attempted...the lines were SO LONG that we didn't really do anything, but just watch the crazy people at Walmart!

It was a WONDERFUL Thanksgiving!!!!  I am so thankful for so many things, but tops on my list are my relationship with the Lord, our wonderful families, and sweet Brynn and Ryan!
