Early January Randoms...

January has been a pretty relaxing and fun month!  We took down all the Christmas decorations and realized our house looked BARE!  But it really spurred us (or should I say me...Ryan's probably sick of my decorating) to get moving on getting the house really "decorated."  That's been SO FUN!  Its been nice to settle into a more normal routine (December is always just so busy, but in a good way).  But it's been nice to settle down a little.

One weekend night we headed out for Mexican.  Emory LOVES cheese dip!  Weird fact...Ryan loves condiments...it's so gross.  Like he could just pour himself a bowl of BBQ sauce and just dip his fingers in it and eat it.  It is really disgusting.  But Emory is the same way.  She already says "dip, dip?" And wants to lick ketchup or BBQ sauce off her fingers.

But when she's this cute how can I say no?

We went to a special "snow" event at our library one Saturday morning.  They made a cute craft and Brynn liked hearing the snowman stories.  Emory, on the other hand, was NOT in the mood to listen to the stories.  HA!

We learned about the wise men with our Sunday School class and made special crowns...

We tried this paleo casserole my friend Christy had been telling me about.  I was shocked but it was DELICIOUS!  The girls loved it, and Ryan said he thought it was one of the best things I've made!
Layers of ground sausage, carmelized onions, roasted sweet potatoes, fresh spinach, and 12 eggs poured on top.  It was SO GOOD!

Emory woke up with a random fever and a little bit of throw up (gross I know) in her bed one morning, so we had an impromptu day off of school.  She was totally fine the rest of the day, but we got lots of errands done.  =)

The girls and I were playing in Brynn's room one day organizing all the play jewelry and hair stuff.  We put Emory's hair up in pigtails and this headband...and all of a sudden she looked 5!  WAAAA!

We took the girls to a SEMO gymnastics meet one night and after the meet the gymnasts autographed posters for all the little kids.  Brynn walked through the line, but she was so intimidated and didn't really say a word to the gymnasts...HA!

We found a stray dog in our subdivision one night and let him stay in our garage over night because it was so cold out.  Ryan and Brynn named him Christmas.  HA!  Ryan found the owner the next day, so it worked out great.  We always read to Brynn at night and after we read books and turn out the lights we let her color or look at books before she hops in bed.  (She has a string of Christmas lights over her bed and she has this little space where she likes to color.  Anyway...we see her on the monitor coloring and crafting away.  The next morning she brought down what she had been working on...a construction paper collar for "Christmas!"  It was too cute!

At school one day it was snowing, so Brynn's class did the coolest thing!  They took black pieces of construction paper and collected snowflakes to look at.  It was so cool!

Then her class made this special project!  ADORABLE!

We met my friend Jennilee and her girls at the Conservation Center one morning...it was a hoot!  (Get it...see picture below!  HA!)
