Dad Makes Some Improvement!!!

Again, just want to say thank you to everyone for the prayers and continued prayers we know you are sending up.  We can definitely feel them, and despite the roller coaster I feel like we've been on, we really have felt God's peace through all of this.

Today was a vast improvement for my dad!!  This morning they took him off the ventilator!  PRAISE THE LORD!  He can finally talk to us and communicate...which is just a huge blessing.  He said he was so glad to get that out.  They weren't going to take him off the vent until his kidney numbers looked better, but evidently his dialysis machine kept messing up last night, and his doctor said his numbers looked a bit better so they decided to go ahead and do it.  They may still do some temporary dialysis.

He walked a bit yesterday, and today he walked the entire hallway.  It was such an exciting moment, but also almost heart-breaking to watch because here is this guy who, just weeks ago, was running up and down the street, and yesterday took two nurses, a respiratory therapist, and a PT to help him walk.  Today he used a walker and did much better.  It is amazing the improvement in just one day!

He was allowed to eat solid food today, and told me his iced tea tasted so good.  I just can't stop saying how amazing that is...yesterday he was on a vent and getting food through a feeding tube...tonight he ate a couple bites of roast beef and mashed potatoes!  GOD IS GOOD!

Please please continue to pray.  I know he still has a long road to go (kidney issues, fluid around the heart, etc.) but hopefully these are things that will clear up in time.  We have trusted the Lord through this entire ordeal and will continue to trust Him for the future.  We cannot thank everyone enough for the prayers and love that has been shown to our extended family through this time.

GO DAD!!!  WE ARE SO PROUD OF YOU!
