Old Friends and Football

A couple of weekends ago some special friends came for a visit!  We hadn't seen them in over a year and we had a great couple of days playing and visiting together!  We met at the park one day, and even hung out at Brynn's soccer practice!  The next day we met up at the Conservation Center and then Chick-Fil-A for lunch before they had to drive home.  

After lunch we stopped by TJ Maxx to get a couple of new fall pillows for our Master.  I thought Brynn was having fun, but when I got home and saw these pictures I couldn't help but laugh.  I guess it was a little "tougher" than I thought...HA!

Most people liked the plaid best...I think it's perfect for fall...over the winter I"m thinking maybe just a fluffy white over the metallic gold ones, or maybe even going for the animal print.  =)

That Friday night we headed to the Cape/Jackson football game with Jared, Kelly, and the boys.  I think Kelly and I were secretly rooting for the Tigers, but Camden was so funny being so hard core for Jackson.  =)   Brynn wanted to wear red and black but kept saying "I want the Tigers to win!"  HA!  We were a mixed bunch and just cheered for whatever happened.  Central ended up pulling out the win!  

After the game we went back to Jared and Kelly's for a little bonfire...

I like the plaid...I think it's growing on Ryan.  =) (And I still need stuff in the frames above the bed...any ideas?)

Brynn is 4 (and a half!) AKA Random Pics from that Week

We got to take a group of the college students to see the movie "War Room" (it was awesome...I highly recommend it!) and then to eat at Pagliai's!  SO FUN!  

On September 22 Brynn was officially FOUR AND A HALF!  We celebrated with a candle in the zucchini bread!  =)

Emory wanted to take her new Minnie backpack to school...it is bigger than she is!

And they made chocolate pudding in her class.  =)  Mrs. Sheila said Emory was enjoying it...

The week after her birthday she had her TWO YEAR well check.  It went great and I don't want to ever take it for granted that she has healthy check-ups.  She is in about the 50% for height and about 25% for weight.

She got this little bike from my parents for her birthday and she loves taking rides on it.  She thinks she is actually riding, but I can steer it from behind.  DOUBLE WIN!

I'm pretty sure we asked them 5000 times to hug each other good night...they love to argue these days.  But every now and then we have a moment of greatness.  =)

 Brynn is learning a TON at preschool...she LOVES to try to sound out letters and spell words.  THANK YOU Mrs. Desera and Mrs. Jan!

We got to hang out with cutie Paxton one night while his parents were at work...the girls had a BLAST with him!

FAIR RIDES!

On Friday they had half-price wrist-bands at the fair.  Several of us took our kiddos and let them ride till they dropped!  It was really really hot but the kids didn't care!

Emory rode for about an hour but it was nap time and it was hot.  Grandpa came to the rescue and took her to his house to nap while I stayed with Brynn.  We had such a great time together!

We rode the Ferris Wheel and right before we got on the guy stopped us and the people in front of us, got out this big wrench, tightened some stuff, and then put us all on.  YIKES!  HAHA!

We had so much fun riding together.  The last hour was just Brynn and I and we did the Ferris Wheel, the bumper cars, the Tilt a Whirl, and several other bigger rides.  It's so fun to spend time with just one of your kiddos one on one!  When the wrist-band time ended we headed to pick Emory up.  Brynn fell asleep almost immediately on the way to Grandpa's and then we picked E up and headed home.  After a little nap for Brynn we got ready again, and headed to pick Ryan up for work because we were meeting his parents and Jason and Sarah and the girls back at the fair to ride some rides together.  =)

One of my parents gifts for Emory's birthday was a new Minnie back-pack and lunchbox, and she just wanted to take them everywhere!  HA!

Back to the Fair we go...=)  We had a blast on the Pirate Ship!

We had such a fun week at the Fair!  =)

Fair Week Randoms...

Fair week we had a fall supper...I even had to call my Grandma for her candied apples recipe...YUMMY!  We had panko crusted pork chops...so easy and SO GOOD!  (And Granny's cinnamon apples and roasted purple cabbage...)  YUMMY FALL FOOD!  We got to eat outside...it was gorgeous weather.  These two were in deep discussion during the meal...

Some friends loaned us a tractor because we were reseeding and smoothing out some ruts in the backyard...the girls love to play on it.  And the gear shift was the "microphone".

We went to walk around the fair one night and Brynn got to ride a camel!  WHOA!  Emory was shaking in her boots and wouldn't go near it...but Brynn was excited.  =)

 We got up that Friday morning and made some fall looking cupcakes...something about Fair Week just feels like the kick-off of FALL!

We met friends at the park and Lyla was helping Emory put her pull-up on...HA!
