Easter Baking (Gone Wrong!)

I love to do little baking projects with the girls and this year we decided to make a couple different things to get in the Easter spirit!

First up...resurrection rolls.  You just use crescent rolls with some cinnamon and sugar, and put a big marshmallow inside (to represent Jesus) and after you bake them the marshmallow is gone just like Jesus was risen from the tomb!

Brynn thought that was so cool!

Then we were going to make chocolate dipped strawberries and dye them orange to look like carrots sitting in grass...so we dyed the coconut green for the grass...so far so good.

But when we tried to dye the white chocolate orange with orange food coloring it got all chunky.  I looked it up and evidently the almond bark is make with oil and the food coloring is water soluble and since water and oil don't mix...you cannot use regular food coloring.  I guess you can buy stuff that specifically works for it, but we didn't have any on hand so we opted to dip them in white chocolate and make bunnies instead.  HA!

And then we used the chunky white chocolate to make some type of Easter jelly bean concoction.  =)

We may have totally messed it up, but we had a great time doing it!  =)
