Ansley's B-Day at the "Clubhouse"

This post requires a little background.  A couple of years ago Ryan's grandma (the girls call her Gigi) moved into the place she lives now...a little retirement community where she has her own little house, but people to help clean, check on her, etc.  There is a really nice "clubhouse" where she can go during the day to eat with her friends, they play cards, etc.

Well last September when a bunch of us girls started going to a Wednesday morning Bible Study, my sister-in-law Sarah would let Ansley go hang out with Gigi while we all went to Bible Study.  (She had accidentally forgotten to sign Ansley up for childcare, so originally I think the plan was that Ansley would just go for a couple of weeks until the childcare thing was worked out at church, but once she started going to Gigi's she wanted to keep going there every week!)

They eat around 11 or 11:30, and we were still in Bible Study, so Ansley would go to the clubhouse with Gigi and help serve lunch, pass out drinks, etc.  She kind of became their "mascot" and all the residents fell in love with her.

So a couple of Friday's ago they had a little birthday party for her, and it was ADORABLE!  All these pictures are from my phone so they aren't the greatest, but oh well.

Some of the residents even got Ansley presents!   And then Brynn had her first "party" meltdown...oh my!  She has been to several birthday parties lately, and it has never seemed to bother her that other people are getting the presents, and not her.  But when Ansley opened up a pink princess umbrella Brynn LOST IT!  She wanted that thing so bad, and this sweet old lady was like "oh, bring her back next week and I'll get her one."  AHHH!  I was like "NO WAY...we are not teaching her that!"  HA!  I tried to show her an umbrella we had in our car, but of course it was plain black and she kept sobbing "it not have booty on it!"  (Ansley's had a Sleeping Beauty figurine for the handle part!)  Thankfully she got over it semi-quickly.  She said that she wanted to take Ansley to "Daddy's playroom" that night.  A lot of Friday nights we go out to eat, and we usually go up to Saint Francis to pick Ryan up on our way to dinner.  They have a pediatric therapy room that no one uses at that time, and he's the last one to leave, so it's always vacant, and she gets to play in there.  So that night we picked Ansley up and took her to play with us at "the playroom."  Ansley was at Pamaw's that day because Sarah was working and when we picked Ansley up she goes "Brynn, there is something in Pamaw's office BUT DO NOT GO IN THERE because it will make you REALLY SAD!"  HAHA!  (She was of course talking about the umbrella, which Pamaw had made her hide before Brynn got there!)
