The first Sunday in December we were busting out the matching Christmas dresses and coats...
We had lunch at Pamaw's with Gigi (she gave the girls a new sock-cap she had knitted!) and then we headed out to the tree farm!
We headed to Meier Tree Farm to pick out a REAL Christmas tree! We have never done this with the girls and we all were so excited!
The weather was rainy and drizzly and cold but we didn't care...we were so excited to ride the "sleigh" to pick out our tree!
Here's the hilarious thing..the tree farm is so fun but the types of real Christmas trees that grow in Missouri (I can't remember what all kinds the guy was telling me) are more scrubby and not that super "Christmasy" looking tree (like a Frasier Fir which is what a lot of people want). So the Christmas tree farm has this whole huge area where they import Frasier Firs from MICHIGAN and they put the stump in the ground so it kind of looks like it's planted...and you can pick one out. Of course the girls didn't know the difference but we were chuckling about it. Anyway...here is our FRASIER FIR from Michigan/Missouri! HAHA!
Later that night we got it all set up in the dining room and it is SO PRETTY! I just love it...hope this is something we get to do every year!
