The weekend of Valentine's Day was the most romantic weekend of my life! NOT! We hosted 8 teenage girls for Disciple Now, which meant that all three bedrooms upstairs were filled with girls and leaders, so therefore we had Brynn in bed with us and Emory slept in her pack n' play in Ryan's closet! HAHA!
The girls were so sweet and we really had a good time getting to host them.
Friday night we headed to a local church that was the "host church" and watched a little bit of the worship band. Emory was over it after about song two, so we didn't stay too long, but Brynn thought it was pretty cool and it was neat to see so many youth from our area being involved with the weekend.
Saturday morning when we woke up it was Valentine's Day! She was really excited about her little gifts.
She heard one of the girls snoring upstairs on the landing and she thought it was so funny. =)
While I worked on getting breakfast out for the girls, Brynn was taking all her Valentine cards from school and "decorating" the tables for the "big girls."
Brynn has a fun little decorating style...
When I looked over she had set out lots of coasters and put four hearts on each one. =)
After breakfast we headed to a birthday party for a friend and then went to my grandparents hometown of Oran to visit my cousin, who was in town with her new baby. It worked out well for us to give the "big girls" their privacy and get to have some "kid-free" time at our house...you know Brynn wanted to be all up in their business when we were home with them.
We got to meet my cousin Tarah's new baby, little Asa, and he was precious!
While Emory took a nap we played scategories...you know I LOVE games. It was awesome! Brynn was a HOOT...she kept naming things for each category, just not obviously with the right letter...it was too funny!
And then she got a hold of my phone and took about 1700 pictures like this...
When we got back the Disciple Now girls were already home from recreation, so we got to hang out with them awhile before we went to bed. They ended up watching a movie in our family room, but we put a sound machine in our room and really couldn't hear them at all.
Sunday morning we set breakfast out and headed to church and then they got up and headed to their final Disciple Now events.
I'm so glad we could help host. Brynn asked lots of questions about what they were doing, and it was just a great way to help our girls learn about serving others. =) I can't believe we didn't take one picture with the girls, but oh well. We are glad they were here!
