Night Out and a Family Visit

This past weekend we went to the Heart for Africa fundraiser.  We had such a good time with our friends while supporting a great cause!  One of the funniest parts of the evening was when I accidentally almost bid at the oral auction!  They were auctioning off some table and I wasn't really paying attention...Jason got out a pack of gum and since he was across the table I guess I raised my arm and was like "Ooo...Jason can I have a piece?"  Jason didn't hear me so I continued to motion to Jason with my hand that I wanted a piece of gum.  The auctioneer guy is like "oo...do I have $600 over here?"  AHHHH!  It was so funny!   I'm like "no...I don't want that table!!!!!!!!!!!"  HAHA!  It was a great evening!

Heather, Brandi, Sarah (and baby bump), me, and Kristi (and baby bump!)

Matt, Ryan, Alex, Mike, Jason, and Mark
Since Lindsey and Curt were here this weekend my grandparents came on Sunday for lunch.  We had a fun time hanging out and visiting with them.

This girl LOVES her some Uncle Curt!

Loving on Curt

She is so good at walking with her little walkers,
or in this case a toy shopping cart!

Showing Granny her shopping skills!
Notice the Mizzou outfit...she was celebrating the Tiger's BIG 12 CHAMPIONSHIP
and excited to watch the NCAA Selection Show!
Random notes -

Nursing is still going well...Feb. 29 was the first day I didn't pump over lunch.  I'm just not making much milk anymore so we decided that we would just give her formula over lunch.  I'm still pumping in the mornings, but we add some formula to that bottle as well.  I'm still nursing at supper and before bed.

She has been taking some STEPS!  Some days she doesn't take more than one, but the other day she took six little steps.  Walking is around the corner!

Her two front teeth popped through about a week ago and are coming in more and more each day.  Her little smile is looking so grown up!  I think she might have a space between her two front teeth just like her mama did!

Erin's Gender-Reveal Party

This post should be more appropriately titled "Frankie and Brynn playing at the Gender Reveal Party, but that's okay.  Last night we went over to Erin and Trey's to find out what Baby Boyer # 2 is going to be...boy or girl.  She had the cutest little theme...the invites and cupcakes and cake all said "waddle it be...boy or girl?"  and there were little rubber ducks on everything!  She had a cake made with either blue or pink inside, and when they cut the cake they found out if they were having another boy or a girl.

Erin getting ready to cut into the cake...

It's BLUE...Colton is going to be his name.

Cute banner! Frankie is going to have a little brother!

Brynn and Frankie playing on his little car/train table.
Uncle Kyle, if you are reading, thanks for my stylish UGG boots!

Brynn loves Erin's dad, Mr. Dave.

Frankie was showing some affection last night!
He even gave her a little hug and kiss when we left.

What?  Is Brynn actually trying to share a toy?
No...I think she is taking it away!

I can only imagine what these two are going to look like in 10 years!
Erin and Trey...we can't wait to meet little Colton in July!  Brynn is going to have 2 Boyer boyfriends!

What we've been up to lately...

The weather has been unseasonably warm lately, and we LOVE it!! We've been able to take Brynn on walks at least 2 to 3 times a week!! There is a park close to our house that we love to walk to...it has the perfect sized swing for Brynn and she loves to swing so much!! She gets the biggest smiles on her face! We also see quite a few dogs there and she loves to point at them and watch them!

I know we don't have a good smiling one but those are harder to capture with a phone!

On another crazy note she has been taking a step here and there for awhile but tonight she took like four in a row!!! She took one, then took another to catch her feet back together, then did that again!!! Oh my gosh!!!

Saturday night we hung out at Jason and Sarah's and watched some basketball on TV...the game wasn't very good so we decided to go ahead and give the girls their bath...together! They had a blast and Ansley was so excited!!

Good daddies!!

They were splashing around and Ansley loved pouring water on Brynn and helping rinse her off...Brynn didn't mind one bit!

Big girls!!

Lots of fun in the bathtub!!

Indoor Triathlon

This morning we went to St. Francis (the hospital where Ryan works) for the Fitness Plus (that's the gym that's at the hospital) Indoor Triathlon.  The guys had to swim 300 yards in the Fitness Plus pool, bike 5 miles on stationary bikes, and then run 2 miles on the indoor track.  It was so fun watching the guys and cheering them on!

Warming up in the pool...Ryan's heat was first.
They could only let like 5 people start at one time.

Watching the swimmers!

Biking away...they had a bunch of stationary bikes set up in this room.

GO RYAN!

The last part of the triathlon...running!

Good thing Ryan didn't need any water during the running part...
Brynn kept wanting to drink out of his water bottle!

Great job Daddy!
We are proud of you!

Ryan works as a physical therapist at St. Francis.
The gym (Fitness Plus) is right near the physical therapy area,
so Ryan had a key and let Brynn play in the pediatric physical therapy rooms.
She had a blast!

Who is that cute baby in the mirror?

She kept trying to touch her reflection and was laughing and smiling at "her."
It was so funny!
FUN SATURDAY MORNING!  Later today I am helping host a baby shower for a friend, who also happens to work in the nursery at church and had Brynn in her newborn class.  It will be so fun!

On a random note...yesterday the weather was really bad here.  There were really high winds and it was pretty scary!  For the first time EVER at school, we had to take all the students into our tornado safety spots (which for my class is one of the boys bathrooms...gross! HA!)  Luckily everything was fine and we didn't have to stay in there too long (about 30 minutes).  It was an interesting day...

On another random note...February 29 was my first day to NOT pump over lunch at school!  YAHOO!  I didn't know what to do with myself with over 30 minutes to EAT lunch!  My frozen supply is all gone, so I'm still pumping in the morning (and adding formula to make it a 5 oz. bottle).  Then for lunch her bottle is all formula (or a little breast milk if we split my morning "pumping" session).  Then I'm still nursing at 5 and before bed.  It's the first step I guess.  A little sad, but also exciting because Brynn is growing up!

11 months!!!

Wow...how time flies!  It really hit me this month...around 5:30 (on the 22nd...this post is only a week late) I kept thinking "oh my gosh....this time 11 months ago I can't believe what was happening to me!"  Our lives have been forever changed by this incredible little person!

Here are some exciting tidbits about month 11!

  • We don't really know how much she weighs or her height...guess we will find out at the doctor for her one year check-up.
  • She is wearing a size 3 diaper and mostly 12 month clothes.
  • Her schedule hasn't changed much...breakfast around 7:30 (milk, then oatmeal and fruit), morning nap from about 9:30-10 (although who knows how long she would sleep if we let her), lunch around 12 (milk, then veggies and fruit), afternoon nap from about 1-3:15, maybe a snack, supper around 5:30 (milk, then some meat, veggies, and fruit, and usually whatever table food we are having), and I nurse around 8, asleep by 8:30.
  • She is eating a LOT more table food...and she seems to love it all.  I think that she likes feeding herself so much that she doesn't really want baby food as much.  We usually have to put something on her tray that she can feed herself, and then shovel in baby food as quick as we can.  HA!  She likes pancakes, bananas, cheese, peas, green beans, bread, melts and puffs, and even baby Mum Mums!
  • She has still been exclusively breast-fed!  My frozen supply is ALMOST completely up, so at that point I will start supplementing my milk with formula.
  • She is on another round of antibiotics for another ear infection.  When we took her to get her ear "re-checked" her new cold (when does she not have a cold?) must have led to another ear infection.  This is her second one.
  • New skills include standing by herself, dancing (bouncing) to music, doing the stacking rings, giving us books to read (although she doesn't always listen for a long time), feeding baby with pretend bottle, drinking REALLY WELL out of a sippy cup, putting comb in her hair, and brushing her teeth.
  • She says dadadada, nonononona, and SOMETIMES mamamama.  She very clearly says "uh oh" when she drops something off her highchair.  She says "dah" a lot..not sure what it means.
  • She is getting really good at using her walker!
  • She still only has her two bottom teeth, but that top left tooth is right there! I feel like it's going to come through anytime.
  • At night she cuddles with her soft baby in her crib.  A lot of times when we go in to wake her up she is hugging it next to her!  She doesn't use the paci much, but we give it to her some in the car.  She doesn't always like riding in the car!  HA!
  • I think she seemed a little fussier this month...I think it is probably from teething and her ear infection/colds.  Other than that she is such a sweet little thing.  We LOVE her little personality, and she is just so much fun to be around and to take places...we love doing errands with our little helper!
  • Brynn, everyone loves you so much!!!  Your grandparents and aunts/uncles/cousins can't get enough of you.  Nonna has already told me how much she will miss you over the summer, and the nursery girls at church think you are so sweet.  I know we are pretty biased, but you really are the greatest little thing ever!

Dr. Ansley

The other day Ansley and Brynn were playing at Pamaws and Ansley was the doctor! She was hilarious!

Listening to Brynns heartbeat...then Ansley felt Brynns tummy and told her she could feel the "snoot snacks" (fruit snacks) in there! Ha!! I had to explain that Brynn can't eat fruit snacks like a big girl yet...

She let Brynn play with the thermometer.

Listening away...

I told her I didn't think she would hear the heartbeat in Brynns head but she decided to check anyway!

Checking out Brynns ears.

I think cousin Ansley might make a great pediatrician one day!
