Saturday was ONE CRAZY, BUSY, FUN day. We started our morning by getting up very early and driving to Sikeston for a 5K...it supported our friends adoption of their little girl from China. Ryan ran the 5K and we watched and cheered. (Maybe next year I'll get back into the swing of running). =)
It was a little chilly! We wrapped up in blankets and played with our friend Sophia (who's mom was running the race).
Ryan was WINNING the race...WHOA!
We were having fun cheering for everyone!
Here are our friends the Mayhews...well, at least Maksim and Mark. Heather was way ahead of them! HA! They are adopting from China and will probably be able to go get their little girl in less than a month! We can't wait to meet little Maeryn! |
WHOA...Ryan WON the race! He was like "I don't think I've ever won a race before!" HA! |
Jason ran the 10K so Ryan and Brynn ran around in the stroller to find him. Then they ran about a mile with him, and then turned off for him to finish. |

Somebody loves fixing Daddy's hair... |
Hanging out with Ansley after the race. |
Our friend Tammy was the overall women's 5K winner...STUDS! |
And then the craziness continued. As soon as awards were over we headed home super fast and changed clothes. We headed to a drop-in wedding shower for some family friends. We stayed about 20 minutes and then headed to Frankie's birthday party! He was turning 3 and it was a dinosaur themed party at Erin's house. It was ADORABLE. Erin always does such a good job of coordinating everything...the food had great names...the veggie tray was labeled "herbivores delight" and the little bugle chips were called "dinosaur claws!" She is so creative!

Singing to the birthday boy! |
Oh my gosh...is that not the cutest little dog EVER! |
Clearly we don't have many boy toys at our house...she didn't know what to do with the drill... so she stuck it in her mouth?? HA! |
Hunting for "dinosaur eggs" with little "binoculars"...so cute! |
I think she was trying to give Frankie a birthday hug...HA! |
After the party we headed home for NAPS...by ALL! HA! I was worn out...but excited because we had a date night ahead! Ryan's cousins had their very last high-school "pops" concert that night. We had asked my parents several weeks ago if they could watch Brynn so we could go out to dinner and have a date night to the concert. We ate at Saffron with Ryan's family (even Kyle was in town) and then headed to Jackson's auditorium to watch the concert. It was REALLY good...unfortunately Brynn will probably never participate in something like that because she has my singing genes! =)
My camera takes such bad pictures, BUT...the concert was great! This is supposed to be a picture of all the kids singing...HA! |
Meanwhile, Brynn was living it up with my parents...they sent me several pictures throughout the night of all the fun they were having. =)
Feeding the ducks at Capaha Park. |
Watching some of the SEMO baseball game. |
After Chick-Fil-A Brynn got to take a bath at Grandma's house... (the water is pink because my mom has these little colored tablets that change the water into different colors...) |
Then they headed back to our house and put her down to bed. By the time we got home she had been asleep for quite awhile and my parents were just reading and snoozing on our couches! HA! (Thanks mom and dad for a great date night!)
Whew! Saturday was crazy busy, but such a fun day with family and friends!
