Emory's Birth - Heading Home

Monday morning we filled out paperwork and got everything loaded up.  Ryan's mom brought Brynn up to the hospital about 10 and we all hung out until we were officially discharged.  I couldn't believe we were getting ready to head home as a family of FOUR!

Daddy was getting in some early morning snuggles!

Again, I took a hot  bath that morning but I never fixed my hair!  YIKES!  We put Emory in her special coming home gown (Brynn has a super similar one and it is so special to me.  It's in a shadow box in her room and I love it!) and got ready to head out.

Ready to head out!

My nurse was AWESOME!
I had heard about her and met her before, but she wasn't my nurse with Brynn.  She was phenomenal.
I'm always so impressed with how awesome every OB nurse seems to be!

I got so emotional leaving the hospital with Brynn, and I had a feeling this time would be no different.  I don't know what it is...just a combination of excitement, exhaustion, nerves, and gratitude for this precious little life!  I made it all the way out of the hospital and to the car before I lost it a little.  How could you not when you at this precious little girl!

Heading home as a mama of four made me a little emotional!

When we got home Emory kept snoozing away in her car-seat so we were able to unload everything in the car (and it was a TON of stuff...I don't know how we accumulated that much stuff just in two nights at the hospital!) and get our house back in order.  Brynn had fun getting out some of Emory's future "toys" and gear and playing around.

We are now the proud parents of two very special and sweet little girls and are so excited to start this adventure as a family of four.  Please continue to pray for us as we adjust and acclimate...it is so exciting to think about all that the future holds!  We pray that God would help us be the very best parents we can be!

Emory's Birth - Some More Hospital Pictures

Sorry for the picture overload...but when I print our family blog-book I'll be glad I included all of these!
Here are a few more pictures from Saturday...the day she was born.
"Emory" got Brynn some presents and one of them was this really cool water painting Dora thing...
SHE LOVED IT and "painted" constantly!  It just uses water so there is NO MESS!

We enjoyed having lots of our friends and family stop by to visit later that afternoon and evening.

Brynn and my friend Jennilee

I took several baths (and washed my hair multiple times) but I guess I NEVER fixed it...I just threw
it up in a wet ponytail and here was the result! HA!  Not very cute!

HILARIOUS!  Emory was spitting up so Brynn found this bucket and put it under her!

Family friend Mrs. Betty Shoaf

My friend Kristi

Betty's husband Larry (or Mr. Warry as Brynn calls him).
He gives the best hugs and kisses!
I think the rest of these pictures are from the next day, on Sunday.

Again, my hair was just stylin'!

My friend Ashley and her Dad, our amazing Pastor!
Surprisingly, I held it together while he prayed over Emory!  HA!

My friend Erin stopped by after she did the "Color Run" in St. Louis!

My friend Kelly also stopped by later that night, but I guess we forgot to take a picture!  Sorry Kelly!

All tuckered out from a long, but wonderful, day!

Emory's Birth - Brynn and Our Families Meet Miss Emory

Shortly after Emory was born our closest family members were able to come see us.  Ryan's parents, my Dad with Brynn (my mom was already there obviously), Ryan's brother Jason and his wife Sarah and their girls, and my grandparents and my aunt were all able to come to the hospital before noon.

Brynn was really timid at first, which we were kind of surprised about.  But it didn't take her long to want to help with her, hold her, kiss her, etc.  It was a very sweet moment when she came in and saw Mommy and Daddy and Emory!

She wanted to show Emory her baby and give it to her!

Showing her all her toys.
Proud Grandpa!

Hi Emory!

If it's hard to read, our nurse wrote that our goals for the day were to rest,
watch football, and bond with the baby!  HA!
What an amazing first few hours getting to share our precious Emory with our families!
