Sitting Up and Playing Around

A couple of weeks ago Brynn really started sitting up.  She has gotten so much better even in just two weeks.  It has been so cool to watch this little 5 1/2 month old sit up and play!

Sitting up and playing on our bed while we got ready for Kellan's birthday party.  (We forgot to take the camera to Kellan's party so I'll have to steal some pictures from Sarah and post them when I can.)

Can you believe she is sitting up already!

HAHAHAHAHA!  Maybe Ryan has finally learned to take it easy with Brynn after she has just eaten!  He was being silly and putting her in the air, and WHAM...spit up fell right in his mouth!

Brynn thought it was just hilarious!  (Thanks Ryan for being a good sport and keeping the spit up on your mouth long enough for me to get the camera!)

Playing around...such a cutie pie!  We have been playing a lot on our bed...for some reason it cracks her up for us to run and jump on the bed...makes her cackle every time!  (I'm sure my friends are now visualizing me and Ryan being morons and running and jumping on the bed...yes we look pretty funny!)

SEMO Fair

Last night we went to the SEMO District Fair with Brynn!  We walked around, saw lots of people we knew, ate corndogs, looked at the rides and animals, and had a lot of fun!  I remember last year going to the fair when I was pregnant and thinking "wow...this time next year we can bring our little baby here!"  It was so crazy to think that we were actually here with her this year!

Getting ready to look at the baby animals.

Looking at the little goats...she would get a smile and make little noises and try to touch them.

What do you think Miss Priss?

For the first few minutes she LOVED looking at them.  She was cooing and smiling so we got out the video camera (yes, we are those parents who took our camera and video camera...haha!)  When we started videoing the goat moved a little toward Brynn and it scared her.  She started crying! Of course that was the only thing we got on video!

Every year the Life Group classes at church work at our fair booth.  We pass out balloons and glow sticks and talk to people walking by.  (We are working Thursday, which is why we went to walk around on Tuesday).  The college kids were working on Tuesday night.  They made this out of glowsticks...so creative!

After getting scared by the baby goats, we went to see Papaw in the Lynwood tent.

What a FUN night...I always love walking around at the fair!

College Football, Baby!

Last night we stopped by a barbeque that our college ministry from church was having.  Since Mizzou had a game that night Brynn was decked out in a cute gold Mizzou onesie, Mizzou socks, and black leggings.  She looked so cute that we had to take some pictures.

To say that Daddy is smitten is an understatement!

I think she's pretty smitten with him too!

Too cute!

Look at those little pigtails!
I think she had her first case of separation anxiety at the barbeque.  Our pediatrician said that we should probably see that happen before her 6 month check-up.  One of the college girls was holding her and walking over to watch the frisbee golf game and Brynn started looking around and I guess she realized that we weren't around.  She got this pouty little face and actually started crying really hard!  I couldn't believe that.  Someone said "oh that's so sad" and I started laughing and said "I love it!  She actually knows I'm mommy!"  HA!

Anytime we want Brynn to smile for the camera we sing her the ABC's.  For some reason that song makes her smile everytime.  We wanted to take a family picture so we asked the college kids to sing her the ABC's.  It was so funny...she just stared at them...I don't think she had ever had that many people sing to her before.  So...this is her face as she is watching a bunch of college kids try to make her smile.  HA!

Look at this ADORABLE hat!  One of my best friend's (and Mizzou roommate) Alicia had it made for her.  When she sent it I asked her what size it was (because all of Brynn's future clothes seemed HUGE to me back then) and she said about 3-6 months.  I remember saying "are you sure it isn't for 3 years?"  Well...here she is wearing it!  It is just amazing to me how this tiny little infant is now wearing real clothes and real hats!  =)

Here is Brynn in the hat when she was less than a month old.  Wow...what a difference a few months makes!

I took this one from my phone because I was trying to get a front view of the hat.  It has a cute little Mizzou pin in the middle of the flower!  Alicia - everyone LOVED the hat...they were all wanting to know where to get things like that!
Sadly, all of Brynn's cute Mizzou gear wasn't enough to cheer the Tiger's on to a big win.  We lost at Arizona State in overtime!  BAHHH!  Ryan and I watched the first half live on Friday night and then I finished it this morning at 5:30 am...my body just won't sleep in.  It gets in school mode and wakes up right on time.  Oh well...I'm a morning person and I can't help it.  I don't make it a habit to get up THAT early, but I didn't mind this morning because I wanted to finish the game before some sports show flashed it on the screen.  And on that note...HAPPY FOOTBALL SEASON!  It is in FULL SWING and I love it!  We put Brynn down for her morning nap at 9 this morning and turned on College Gameday...I was in HEAVEN!  Here's to hoping the Tiger's have a GREAT season (and are still in a major conference after all this conference realignment craziness is finally over!)

Our little cheerleader

We are getting ready for football season in the Bandermann household!  And of course we will be cheering for our favorite team...the Mizzou Tigers!  At Brynn's baby shower we got Mizzou cheerleading outfits for 3-6 months, 12 months, and 18 months!  Brynn is going to be styling this football season!  Let's hope it cheers on our Tigers to a great season!

                                                                    GO TIGERS!

Famous Twin!

We've been told Brynn has a twin...a famous twin!  You might know her as "Boo" from the movie "Monsters, Inc."  HA!

What do you think?  Do we have a little "Boo" on our hands?

Triathlon in Des Moines

Prepare yourself for picture overload.  This weekend a bunch of us made the 8 hour drive to Des Moines, Iowa for the "Hyvee Triathlon / 5150 U.S. Championships."  Jason, Ryan, Mark, Alex, and Matt all competed this weekend. The girls had a lot of fun shopping and watching the race.

Since a triathlon involves swimming (and you can't swim with a race number pinned to your jersey) the boys had to put these special "number tattoos" on.

Jason and Ryan getting ready the night before

The race wasn't until Sunday morning so all day Saturday the girls went shopping!  We bought Brynn a fall wardrobe full of play clothes!

I think these might be 2 of my favorite outfits!  She is going to be in style with these little jeggings!

On Sunday morning we got up bright and early to get to the race start...here is the "transition area" where the competitors run to get their bikes after swimming.  Look at ALL these bikes!

Everyone started at different times and Jason had just started...and the boys were waiting to get in the water for the swim so we caught them for a quick picture.

We made Ryan a sign to cheer him on!  (Brynn stayed with my parents over the weekend but this way she could still cheer her Daddy on!)

GO RYAN!  I think he looks like a superhero in this wetsuit! HA!

Here is Jason getting out of the water and running to get his bike.

Ryan finishing the swim and on the way to get his bike.

Here is Ryan running out of the transition area to start the biking portion of the race.  I normally think I have a pretty handsome husband...but I have to admit...in a bike helmet and nerdy race outfit...not so much! HAHA!

We got to see Jason on the run portion of the race before we headed to the finish line.

We are so proud of you boys!  Jason and Ryan decided to sport a new look this triathlon...visors and sunglasses (evidently this is the "thing" to do! HA!)

BROTHERS!  (The race ended by the state capitol building...it was beautiful and the weather was perfect!)

Celebrating after the race!

Look at these studs!
We had a great weekend watching the boys compete!  And one of the CRAZIEST things was that one of my good friends from high school (that I ran cross country and track with) now is an excellent triathlete and competed in the Elite race.  She WON the entire women's elite race and WON A CAR!  (If anyone who is reading this went to high school with me I'm talking about Kim Pancoast!  How crazy is that!).  She lives inWashington now, but travels all over the US competing.  This is the second time we've seen her at a race this summer!  I just couldn't get over the fact that she WON A CAR!  She did always kick my butt back in high school! HA!

We were so ready to come home and see Brynn, though.  She got her first cold a couple of weeks ago, and it kind of came back this weekend while we were gone!  It was so great to see her cute smiling face after a LONG DRIVE!
