Another Week of SNOW

At the beginning of March we got another big round of ice/snow! AHHH!  You'd think by March we would have been in the clear!  We stayed in, played with LOTS of toys, made lots of "cities" and "castles", and tried to keep busy.  But I don't think we went out one time to play in it...we were all OVER IT!  =)

My friend/neighbor brought over a trampoline for the kids to play with in the basement...it came at the PERFECT time because we hung out in the basement for a couple of hours and the girls had SO MUCH FUN!

I celebrated the end of a crazy snow day with this delightful dessert...

We put on a new outfit the next morning...hot stuff right here.  She loves to wear Brynn's "pammies".

Thank you trampoline!

I must have been in a weird mood because that night I made brussel sprouts...Brynn was enthusiastic about trying it...

And then decided she was NOT a fan...HA!

Fur Vests and Messy Emory

One week before church we were actually EARLY and I snapped a few pictures of the girls in their matching fur vests...

I have a feeling in ten years these vests will be totally out of style and my girls will say something to me like "MOM...I can't BELIEVE what you made us wear." (I laugh about the childhood clothes my mom put on me and my sister all the time (my favorites are the "red velvet walking shorts with the teddy bear puff paint Christmas sweatshirts), but she SWEARS we were always wearing the cute "in-style" clothes even though they look funny now).  Well I bet this is the perfect example.

The girls looked SO  CUTE in these vests, so I'm saying right now to future Brynn and Emory...you were adorable in these and these were very IN STYLE when you wore them!  =)

We teach the 3-year old Life Group class and when Emory got picked up and came in our classroom she thought she was big stuff, trying to use the big kid sink.

I like to bake and do projects in the kitchen with the girls, but whoa Emory can make a mess in a hurry.  I swear I can turn around for one milli-second and she has found the ONE thing on the counter that she shouldn't get into...

And then I figure...if the shirt has to be soaked in stain-remover, why not just let her have at it...

Well at least they were some DELICIOUS cookie brownies when we got done...

We went to iHop on Pancake Day and got FREE pancakes.  It was really fun and the girls loved it!  Emory kept yelling "PANCAKE!  (PA-CAH!!!!)  And shocker..she got pretty messy...

YUMMY PANCAKES!

Emory - 18 months

  • She weighs about 21 pounds.
  • Size 4 diapers.
  • 12 month or 18 month clothes, even some old 2T from Brynn
  • She LOVES to eat and she is a GOOD eater!  And gets SUPER messy most of the time.
  • She takes one big afternoon nap a day.  If we are home and don't have to get up early for school she sleeps from about 8:30 or 9 am, and then usually takes a really long nap in the afternoon, like from 1-4.  She is so content to sit and play in her bed when she wakes up.
  • Her talking has just EXPLODED over the last couple of months.  She knows a LOT of words...mama, dada, Brynn (Brih), Grandma (mamaw), Grandpa (papaw), Pamaw, Papaw, Granny (na-nee), Pawpaw, lots of names of other people (like relatives, cousins, teachers, etc.) Elmo, Abby, etc.  She says cup (pup), banana (nan-uh), apple, eat (EAT EAT EAT), chip (ship), berry, etc.  Gosh...as I'm typing this I can't even type all of the words she says.  Most people who hear her talk say "wow...she really says a lot doesn't she!"  And she attempts to mimic ANY word you say to her.
  • Probably the cutest word she says right now to people is "Hello!"  (Heh-woh) and it is ADORABLE!
  • She can pretty much repeat anything people try to get her to say.
  • She says color words although not always correctly...but if you ask her what color something is, she usually starts with yellow (lel-o), then purple, then she tries to say blue and green (neen)! HA!
  • She can be really loud!  HA!
  • She still loves to cuddle with her blanket, Mooshka baby, and her Minnie (Mimmie) when she goes to sleep.
  • She is obsessed with stickers ("tickers") right now.  Anytime she sees them anywhere she starts saying "tickers" "tickers" and you can pretty much follow a trail of them around our house if she has a sheet of stickers.
  • If you ask her what her name is she will say "Em-me."  It's really cute!
  • She just fell a couple of weeks ago when we were getting her out of the bathtub and she CHIPPED HER FRONT TOOTH!  It's not really THAT bad, but still...it's gonna be there until she loses that tooth!  =(
Emory - you are a TRUE JOY to our family and we love you more than we could ever put into words.  You are spunky and sweet and just the most amazing little girl!

Brynn's First Dance - Father/Daughter Dance

Back in February Brynn got to go to her FIRST ever Father/Daughter Dance with Ryan.  It was "Frozen" themed and it was at the Osage Center.  The "couples" for the evening were Brynn and Ryan, Ansley and Jason, and Papaw and Charli.  =)  We headed over to Pam and Rick's first to take some pictures before the "guys" took their "dates" out to eat at Red Lobster, and then headed to the dance.

She was practicing those dance moves even before they left...

I think these next few pictures are from the camera...

Elsa sang to all the girls...

They saw quite a few people they knew and had lots of fun all dancing together...

So thankful that Brynn and Ryan got to do this together!  Ryan said they had a blast and it was such a special memory for the two of them!
