Pumpkin Painting and HAPPY HALLOWEEN

We had a great week leading up to Halloween!  My parents were going to be out of town the weekend of Halloween so they invited the girls over a couple of nights before so they could give them a few little treats.

On Halloween morning we headed to my friend Jennilee's house to do a little pumpkin painting with the girls.  How big does Emory look?  I don't know why that little barrette makes her look so old!

Painting away...

Then we headed to a Halloween lunch at Chick-Fil-A!

After lunch we headed to Cape Town to visit Ryan's great-grandma and to show her our costumes....the residents were LOVING seeing all the kids in their costumes.  And several friends/cousins were there.

After naps and a quick supper we headed to my friend Heather's house to do some trick-or-treating!  Our church hosts block parties in neighborhoods and they were hosting one.  We hung out there and let the kids trick or treat around her neighborhood.

It was COLD!  Lyla and Emory got all bundled in the wagon...

Brynn and Millie =)  Good thing we had already done some trick-or-treating the week before...it was SO COLD you couldn't really see anyone's costumes!

HAPPY HALLOWEEN!

Erin's Gender Reveal Party

A couple of weeks ago we headed to my friend Erin's house for her gender reveal party.  It was SO CUTE and really exciting since she DIDN'T know what she was having (she cheated the last time and already knew before the party!  HA!)  We gave her a hard time last time because she wasn't going to find out at the ultrasound, but was going to wait and find out with everyone else (now I wouldn't have even been able to wait that long...I would have known IN the ultrasound room) but she told us a couple of days after her party that she already had looked! HAHA!  But this time around she really didn't know.  (Good job Erin!)  She already has two boys, so there was a lot of wondering if she was adding boy number three or girl number one!

Erin's parents are family friends and also our neighbors from our old house...Emory hadn't gotten to see Mr. Dave since the move, so she was having a big old time hanging out with Mr. Dave!

Erin is seriously Party Planner Extraordinaire!

Erin's second son Colton is a year older than Emory...do I see a future here?

Kelly and I were DYING to see!  (I'm sure Erin and Trey were too!  HA!)

Can't wait to meet Baby BOY Boyer in March!  Praying for a healthy rest of the pregnancy and looking forward to meeting sweet little boy soon!

Moving In/First Week In the New House

The timing of our move could not have worked out better and we are so grateful for the Lord's timing!  After a couple of days of "negotiating" (or whatever you call it) we "sold" our house (or it went under contract) on Emory's first birthday....September 14.  The people who bought our house requested to close on Tuesday, October 28, which couldn't have worked out more perfectly because our builder said we would be ready to move in the weekend before, the weekend of October 23.  (The only downside was that we were planning to take Brynn to Mizzou's homecoming that weekend, and had to scrap it, but oh well.  There's always next year!)

So a couple of weeks before we SLOWLY began putting things in boxes...we did MOST of it that week, and lots of family and friends helped us that weekend.

This is what packing and moving felt like...

We spent a ton of time Friday preparing for the move the next day, so by supper time we needed a BREAK.  We headed to one of our favorite restaurants, Pagliai's pizza.

And then headed to the Central football game for a little bit (and totally random, but Central plays for it's first STATE championship this Saturday in St. Louis!  Go Tigers!)

We woke up bright and early on Saturday morning and got ready to get after it.  Since we missed Mizzou's homecoming, Emory and I sported our Mizzou shirts.  =)  Big thanks to family friend Mrs. Betty for watching our girls all day so we could get work done at the new house!  =)

Lots of Ryan's buddies helped move stuff over from the old house, especially all the furniture.

My parents were out of town on a trip to West Virginia (they had already planned the trip months before) but one of my best friends Kelly, and Pam, came to the rescue and helped me so much on Saturday!  We worked on getting the kitchen in order.  I took this picture of Kelly because she was  STICKLER about getting all the dust out before we put anything in.  Thanks Kel!

Looking down  on the great room from the second floor...we got some new furniture and the boys were helping move it all in.

Jason had been helping Ryan during the day, so later that night Sarah and the girls came by and we all enjoyed a yummy dinner!  Pam was so sweet and bought food for all of our helpers...it was awesome!

And seeing the girls sitting at the barstools...I was having a moment!  HA!

Rick and Larry (hard at work after installing the washer and dryer!)

Our garage was a bit of a disaster zone...but I guess that's normal.  Thankfully it's pretty cleaned up a month later!  HA!

The first night was SO WEIRD.  (It didn't help that Ryan and I didn't have any blinds, had random sheets and blankets thrown on our bed, etc.  But a few days later (as I was baking cookies) it really started to feel like HOME!  We LOVE IT!

I took off from work a couple of days the next week and got a lot more done, but we also had a lot of errands to get random things, like bath mats, curtains, etc.  I think the girls and I went to 9 different stores on Monday morning...and Emory was over it by the last stop!  HA!  Poor thing...but she did so good through almost all of it so I can't complain!

Weird angle, but you can kind of see the eat in kitchen area and the kitchen.

My grandparents came over on Wednesday and helped clean and helped me and Kelly put together some dining chairs...clearly Kelly needed help!  HA!  We could NOT stop laughing!

Brynn and Pawpaw were hard at work getting things done.

Kelly the cleaner!

THANK YOU to everyone who helped out!

And before too long, I'll post pictures of the house now that we have most things moved in and even Christmas decorations up!  WOOHOO!
