Brynn's Funnies - February Edition

OH. MY. GOSH.  This child has been SUCH A HOOT lately.  As she is getting older, she is understanding things more, but also wondering about things more, and it just cracks us up.

  • Last night we went to the SEMO basketball game.  Randomly, she says "mommy, you need to go potty?"  I said, "no, but do you?  Do you want me to take you to the bathroom?"  She keeps saying "no, but do you need to go mommy?  I will take you.  I will help you."  It made me laugh so hard, and I figured she probably needed to go, so I said "I'll go with you."  Well, we got to the bathroom and we walk in and she walks me over to a stall and says "go mommy."  Then she stands over by the wall and says "if you need me I'll be right here, okay?"  HAHAHA!
  • We saw Rowdy the Redhawk and the Chick-Fil-A cow at the SEMO game.  She calls them the "creatures" and gets so excited.   "Look...there two creatures here!"  Later in the game she kept asking where the real cow was.  (She had won a stuffed cow from them throwing things out).  But she wondered where the "real" cow was.  I said "I don't see him, maybe he had to go to the bathroom?"  (She had just gone to the bathroom) And so she says in all seriousness, "no he not, I didn't see him in the potty!"
  • We were at Aldi's the other day.  I had Emory in the baby carrier thing and Brynn was in the cart.  (I've gotten a lot smarter, and this is the BEST way to go to the grocery with both girls!)  This older lady says "oh, you've got two sweeties there!"  Brynn says real loud, "What she say mommy?"  I said "she said you are sweet."  Then right by the lady she yells out, "is she OLD mommy?"  AHHH!  (She's really into "old" people lately...she always asks if people are old!)
  • Something she thinks is funny lately is putting us to bed.  Emory had already gone to bed the other night and we were reading in our bed.  She says "okay guys, go to sleep.  I will tuck you in.  Turn you lamps off."  So she turns all the lights off, tells us good night and hops off our bed and goes in her room.  We were like "what?"  We were watching her on the monitor and she goes in and gets in her bed and lays down.  Then she hops out and gets out her box of stuffed animals, picks a couple out and puts them in her bed and lays down.  Then she hops out and walks back to our room.  (We quickly pretend we are sleeping.)  She says "forgot my pillow guys, now go to sleep."  Sure enough, her little pillow was in our bed from reading books.  We were CRACKING UP.  She grabs her pillow and takes it back into her room and lays down.  She tucks herself in and goes to sleep.  WHAT?  When did she become a teenager?  It was HILARIOUS to watch her on the monitor.  Linz - you would have died!
  • The other Friday night we were getting out the door to go up to church for an event.  I had to take Emory's bottle and I guess I had told Brynn "help mommy remember to bring this, because Ryan wasn't home yet and I was trying to get everything out the door and we were running late.  We get all loaded up and we were pulling out of the driveway and from the backseat I hear Brynn say "mommy, you got you seat belt on?"  I started laughing and said "yes."  Then she says "mommy, you bring Emory's diaper bag and bottle?"  WHAT?  I could not stop laughing and said "yes!"  And kept telling her thank you for reminding me about everything.  What a little lady!
I know there are so many funny things that she says/does, but I can't remember them all.  But I love writing down the ones I CAN remember.  I think it will be so fun to look back and read them one day.

Ryan's Trail Race

On Saturday we headed to St. Louis to watch Ryan run in a 15K trail race.  We decided to take Brynn to watch, and she had so much fun!  (My parents kept Emory for the morning/afternoon while we were gone...THANK YOU mom and dad!)

Good luck kisses!

Ryan, Rick, and Pastor Mark...they all run/train together.

Several of the "Cape" runners in the race.
It was super hilly and muddy running through the trails, but Ryan said it was lots of fun!  We got to see them several times throughout the race, which is always fun!

Gotta eat some "Power Gel" halfway through the race...
After Brynn saw Ryan run through the water station, she needed some water too.  =)

Crazy finish...it was so muddy!
Then we had lunch outside after the race...it was 60 degrees and BEAUTIFUL!

MUDDY!

Then Brynn wanted to take some pictures...

After the race we hit up a couple of furniture stores, and even ended up getting a couple of pieces of furniture for our master bedroom when we eventually move!  WOOHOO!  (Our bed right now was made by my sweet hubby in HIGH SCHOOL SHOP CLASS! HA!  And the other pieces are hand-me-downs we need to return to my parents eventually...so needless to say it was EXCITING to buy some new furniture!!!  Now if the weather would just cooperate we could actually continue the building process so that we eventually have a house to move into!  HA!)

Saturday - Valentine Breakfast

Last Saturday, the day after Valentine's Day, we had a family "Valentine Breakfast".  Since Ryan has to leave for work before the girls are up (and since Valentine's Day was during the week) we couldn't really do anything on the actual day.  When they got up we had little presents and we made breakfast and ate together.  It was such a fun morning with the girls!

Brynn started the morning by looking at all her school valentines AGAIN.  (She will dump them out and she remembers who gave her her "favorite" ones.  "This one from Syndney.  This one from Car-litt.  Where mine from JoJo?"  It's a little uncanny how she remembers which one is from who.)  So she played with her Valentines while we started breakfast.

Emory was getting in on the Valentine fashion...

We got the girls a couple little things and Brynn was SO EXCITED for her Doc McStuffins book and a Princess puzzle.  Emory got a  couple of board books too.  I think she was excited for something new to chew on...HA!

Notice the Doc McStuffins purple headband that came with the book (on Brynn).  She put it on herself and
was so proud!
I wanted to have Red Velvet pancakes because I found a recipe in the Pioneer Woman's cookbook and thought it would be so fun!  BUT...when I was in Aldi's and found a kit for Red Velvet pancakes where all you had to do was add water and a couple things...SCORE.  We took advantage of that instead . With two little girls...that made things a LOT simpler and they still tasted delicious!

Red Velvet pancakes, turkey bacon, and strawberries for the Valentine Breakfast WIN!

Poor Emory doesn't have a bib with an E.  We are pretending the B is for Bandermann.
Second child problems...

She has inherited her Grandpa Dale's chubby baby cheeks for sure!
And of course it just wouldn't be one of my blog posts without a picture of shirtless Ryan...right Erika?  And he has some awesome hair to go along with it.  He said the other day "why do you keep putting pictures of me up without a shirt."  Well Ryan, if you continue to do everything SHIRTLESS and see me with my camera, you know you have to either put a shirt on or quit complaining about it.  Clearly, he hasn't learned yet.

Brynn got to try Daddy's coffee...

and some spray whipped cream...things were getting a little crazy....HA!

We were all sitting there together just talking and having a GREAT breakfast and it was just one of those "moments"...you know how there are times where something is going on and you think "this is something I'll remember...this is really special"...it was like that.  I looked at Ryan and here we are with our two little girls, having a special Valentine breakfast with/for them and I said "these are the moments, huh?"  And so then he busts out in his rendition of "these are the moments"....HILARIOUS!

I don't know if Emory was very impressed...
And then photographer Brynn took a picture of Zoolander (I mean Ryan) and Emory...

After breakfast, I took Brynn to a birthday party for one of her little buddies, and Ryan ran a couple of errands with Emory.  Then we met for lunch at my mom's house because Mollie and Ory came to town for the weekend and were staying with my parents.  (They were college students when my parents worked in the college department at church and became really close to our family.  Mollie lived with my parents for a semester and we've "adopted" her as our third sister!  HA!)  Mollie and Ory got married back in the fall and they live in St. Louis now, but it's SO FUN when they come to town to visit.  Brynn had a BLAST playing with them.  I know they were a little tired of playing hide and seek by the time the weekend was over.  HA! After lunch we took a group picture...I stole this from your Instagram, Mollie.  =)

Later that night Ryan and I had a date at Saffron...YUMMY!

Friday Fun!

Friday morning we got up and headed to LeBounce for Evy Kate's FIFTH birthday!  It was "Frozen" themed and SO CUTE!  (Brynn even wanted to bring home the paper plates we ate on because they were "Frozen" and had Anna and Elsa on them!  HA!)  I forgot the camera and didn't take many pictures with my phone, but I did snap some of Brynn and Liam having some fun together...don't know if Ryan should be worried?  HA!

Later while the girls were napping I made some cookies for my father-in-law's birthday...he turned 60 and we were having a small surprise party for him on Sunday so I took the available quiet time and made some 6's and 0's to decorate.

Then around 5:15 I loaded up the girls and we headed to Ryan's work to pick him up.  We drove out to Marble Hill and headed to his old high-school because they were having Homecoming and having a special celebration for Ryan's old basketball coach, who is retiring.  They wanted as many of his former players to come and they surprised him at halftime.  It was really cool to watch!

SO MANY former players walked out of the stands and surprised their coach!

Each guy went around and said their name and what year they graduated.  Ryan started it off and said he didn't really know what they were supposed to say so he just said his name and his graduation year.  I told him I was GLAD he left it at that...we were joking around and I said "I'm just glad you didn't say "Ryan Bandermann, 2001, number 20, point guard, and start telling how many points he averaged per game, etc.!"  HAHA!

Ryan had a lot of fun visiting with some of his old basketball buddies and getting to talk with his coach.  And of course it was fun for everyone to see the girls.  Brynn and Ansley got to watch some of the game and see the cheerleaders and eat popcorn!  =)  FUN NIGHT!

School Valentine Party and Valentine Decor

This past week Brynn had her little Valentine's Party at school!  They got to wear PJ's and they had pizza for lunch.  All the kids brought Valentines and they got to pass them out to everyone's little bags.  I was walking past her classroom and had to peek in and watch...it was TOO CUTE!

Brynn and one of her best friends Scarlett were having a BLAST watching everyone passing out the Valentines.  They were smiling so big!

Then it was Brynn's turn to pass hers out...Mrs. Diane helped her put them in each bag.

-

(Backtracking...We made her Valentines the night before.  I found this really cute free printable from Pinterest.  We mixed up some teddy grahams, mini-marshmallows, and chocolate chips and put them in a little zip-lock baggie.  Then we folded the printable in half and stapled it on the bag.  They turned out really cute!)

And Brynn decorated a couple for Grandma and Pamaw!

Back to the party...a little later it was pizza time...SO CUTE!

She got to have TWO parties...one for the Wednesday class and one on Thursday for her Tuesday/Thursday class. We took some pictures in our jammies on Thursday morning.

Here are some of the Valentine decorations we had out this year...

Some Valentine cards and some of our favorite Valentine books...

There were some cookies on the cake stand...guess we ate them ALL!

 HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY!
